Let's Get Over Frustration and Stress

Don't Fall Into Unemployment Shock

Are you recently got hit by pink envelop and now feel battered? Dealing with unemployment shock seems to be the most stressful time, and it is really hard not to get discouraged and frustrated after you have sent numerous job applications and interviews with no responses at the end. Even though employers don’t seem to care about you at the moment, don’t be going down further. You might get a good chance of getting back to the right position at the right timing.. in the meanwhile, life goes on, and let’s stay strong and get over it !

First thing you might try yourself is to sticking to a preset time schedule as before. Even if it is not 9 to 5 anymore, just pretend that you ought to wake up at 7 am in the morning, take shower and then dress up – not really formal but loose jean should work. Also get away from media radar such as TV news, drama and chatting on SSN – those will eat your personal time of good 2 hours right there. If you structure your schedule as strict as possible – even though you are not actually working actively, you just get yourself busy and follow your own goal of detailed action items of the day – then you will get busy and stay active and finally feel good at the end of the day by looking at your accomplishment. It is a good practice to list down the little steps for the big goal, so you feel great when you complete each items and see yourself getting closer to your final goal.

Also don’t forget: Your first priority is to job hunting and contacting HR people for the company. Make sure your resume is up to date and perfectly clean with no typing or grammar errors in it. If you have extra time after this, you might consider learning new skills, but it is not mandatory because it will depend on the time it will take and the subject that you are going to master. If it’s a language course, it will take a good amount of minimum 6 months to get the taste of it, so plan before you go into the action.

The other thing you can take advantage out of this time is that you could actually spend some time – actually a great amount of time in your physical body. By doing a regular exercise on a daily basis, you will gain a good strength of mental health as well. This will always help you make your spirit revive at the same time. A sound soul comes out of a sound body. Recharging your mind after the break will be one of the best rewards during this period, rather than non-stop work habit that you have been doing for the past decade.

Lastly, don’t forget that you are not alone on this earth. Your family members and friends are always on your side to hang out, listen to you and can spend time with you for a sip of drink, watching football games and throwing jokes at times. This will be a soothing source that you can trust and share your love with. Also you should be able to find other people in the similar situation online – like forum – to share your thoughts and ideas each other. Try consulting those resources for some support and helpful tips. Fellow unemployed people could come up with a great idea at the end of the talks, as they usually come from a variety of backgrounds.

So stay positive and do some action today !
