For the residents of NewJersey who are unemployed or may soon need unemployment insurance benefits, there are unemployment phone numbers that they can use to start gathering information regarding unemployment eligibility and unemployment application. Before unemployment benefits can be paid, filing a claim needs to happen. There are three Reemployment Call Centers in New Jersey for filing new unemployment claims and reopening existing claims by telephone. The Reemployment Call Centers are open 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon), Saturday and Sunday, excluding holidays. For Northeast New Jersey, the phone number is 201-601-4000. Teletypewriter (TTY) users may file their unemployment claim by calling (201) 601-4159. For Northwest and Central New Jersey, the phone number is 732-761-2020. Teletypewriter (TTY) users may file their unemployment claim by calling (732) 761-2035. |
